A new special edition of the Fiat 500 has been unveiled. Called the 500 Limited Edition ” Rosso Corsa”, it will be produced exclusively for the German market in a limited series of 250 examples.

The 500 Limited Edition ” Rosso Corsa” will gets a unique red finish and also gets a leather interior, 16-inch alloy wheels with red accents, Bi-Xenon headlamps, a higher-grade audio system and red painted brake calipers.

The new FIAT 500 Bicolore made its debut at the Bologna Motor Show. The Bicolore model features a two-tone paint scheme in candy-apple red and white. Fiat finishes off the changes to the Bicolore by fitting it with unique alloy wheels and trimming the interior with some chrome accents.

Fiat describes the Bicolore as “an unprecedented combination that recalls the retro world of ’50s American cars and pop art.” The automaker continues, calling the special edition 500 a model “that celebrates the car’s more eco-friendly and sporty spirits.” The Bicolore is powered by one of Fiat’s most fuel efficient engines available: the turbocharged two-cylinder 0.9-liter TwinAir, which cranks out 85 horsepower.

At this year’s Paris Motor Show, Ferrari took the wraps off its special 599 SA Aperta, the open-air version of the 599 GTB Fiorano. All 80 production units are already spoken for by Ferrari’s most revered clientele, but that hasn’t stopped the Italian supercar maker from teasing us by revealing all five of the car’s available color and trim configurations.

For those unfamiliar with the SA Aperta, the latest variant of the 599 is built to honor Pininfarina’s 80thanniversary, hence the 80 production cars. The car features a true open-air driving experience with a lower, reshaped windshield, twin roll hoops integrated into the rear buttresses, and a removable fabric top, should an owner happen to face a bit of rain. Other parts are cribbed from the remainder of the 599 range — most of the bodywork is borrowed from a stock 599, but the engine is the same 670 horsepower, 6.7-liter V-12 from the 599 GTO.

That engine alone is enough to make your neighbors turn green — but interestingly, green doesn’t appear to be a shade offered on the 599 SA Aperta. According to Ferrari’s online configurator, the open-air 599 is available in five different color combinations, including black, blue, yellow, a deep red, and a burnt orange.

Regardless of the hue, each car will sport the same chrome shadow-style rims, along with an aluminum-trimmed windshield surround, mirror caps, and rear buttresses. That’s where the similarities end, however, as each color receives unique brake caliper paint, along with bespoke interior accents. For instance, selecting a black exterior hue adds a light brown interior with black accents, cashmere-colored stitching, and bright red brake calipers. A red SA Aperta, however, receives a full black interior with red trim and white stitching, an off-white dashboard, and black brake calipers.

According to Ralph Gilles, senior VP for design of Chrysler Group, the carmaker was riding a bit high the past few years. After looking their vehicles side by side with the competitors, the other car manufacturers are producing cars rolling closer to the ground. And it seems, Chrysler will be producing lower vehicles in the near futures to improve the handling, fuel economy, and overall look. Chrysler will have the lower profiles of their vehicles as the hallmark of their future production.

Gilles makes the 2011 Dodge Durango as an example which gets a lower fascia compared to its older versions and getting a different approach compared to the Grand Cherokee. He also adds that the vehicle will be a more fuel efficient. The Durango RT will also come an inche lower compared to the Express to improve the handling.

The design executive of Chrysler also added that they may need new designers to help complete the work on 15 new vehicles. These new units will use platforms by their partner Fiat and are scheduled to roll out from the factories by 2012 through 2014.

The car manufacturer admits that they are looking for new designers but adds that they are also very picky when hiring new members of the design team. Aside from being a good artist, they are also looking for someone who can lead, who has some spirit, and someone who will fit in their company’s culture.
